Intellectual Conservatism and liberals --Need of the Nation

Recently read this writeup from mr. Gurcharan Das http://epaperbeta.timesofindia.com/Article.aspx?eid=31808&articlexml=MEN-MORALS-Arrogant-liberals-are-doing-a-big-12062016018013  about liberalism and a kind of disservice some of them are doing to the nation , although he claims to be a"classical" liberal and the writer of this post may not adhere to all the opinions of mr.Das but some of the findings in this writeup are very apt and worth talking about..
Mr. Das mentions the need of 'genuine conservative intellectuals' and believes the country lacks in the same, such genuine intellectuals, he says would argue on verifiable facts rather than on technological fantasies from the puranas, by demonising them or treating them condescendingly , the liberal ideology remains confined to a small elite.
Liberalism should be - I disapprove of what you say, but i will defend to death your right to say it'
What some psuedo liberals use- i disapprove of what you say, so shut up, you idiot '
, this sort of behaviour drives people away.
This is not a problem that has emanated after the present government came into power, it has been always there, but yes, it seems to be at the forefront at this juncture of time , and the writer believes that this ought to be seen as an opportunity rather than a cause of trouble.
A developed nation needs  intellectual conservatives in addition to the liberal elites, a balance is always needed between these two poles for a healthy society which is based on ideas that may either be conservative or as liberal as they can get, but are based on free speech and on open debate, and after taking into consideration all the pro's and con's of the given situation.
A learned liberal force ,an intellectual conservative elite would also be helpful in eliminating the menace of the third entity that has been eroding the power of both these pillars of democracy , the middle breed of psuedo intellectuals, including psuedo liberals who do not have a mind of their own but still consider themselves as the 'creme de la creme', creating a rift between the two requisite poles of thought. they create false propaganda, use the power of social media in negative perspective thus causing loss to the nation and its pride, half cooked information given to a self proclaimed intellectual can be very dangerous, more than a person who knows nothing, because he does not have the requisite tools to proliferate the idea which the pseudo intellectual does, thus this wall needs to be broken between these two necessary creatures.
Modernity blends with tradition, the tagline of the school to which the writer belongs aptly defines the whole discussion, there is a dire need of government policies to induce, encourage and provide for by our elite educational institutions to the conservatives in large numbers, befitting them with tools and environment conducive for free speech, where they can sit on either side of the table along side their liberal peers and discuss the requirements of the nation, bringing out solutions to the problems we have been face, thereby benefiting the nation as a whole. Jai Hind !
